Information Collection and Use
You can generally visit our Site without revealing any personally identifiable information about yourself. However, every time you access a page from this Site, we collect certain information from your computer about your visit. This information is used in summary format to identify items such as the date, time, origin and nature of requests, specific pages accessed, and the type of browser and computer operating system being used. Summary reports are only available to selected UEP staff who have a need for the information, in an effort to help us understand overall trends of site users and to implement changes that will make our site more useful to visitors.
If you use our Services by becoming an Author or Registered User, you must provide us the following information to create an account: name, email address, telephone number, country, and password. Like other passwords, you should choose one that is known only by you. You acknowledge that this information is personal to you, and by creating an account you authorize us to identify you.
As an Author, you may elect to provide additional personally identifiable information for a profile such as your email address, gender, photo, age, phone number, company, postal address, city and occupation. Registered Users will be able to view the comments or ratings of documents you posted to the Site. Additionally, Site visitors will be able to view information about the documents you have posted, such as the most recently posted documents and highest rated documents and we may modify the tags or categories of the documents you have posted to the Site.

When you use or access the UEP Site, we may use small text files containing a string of alphanumeric characters called cookies to improve overall Site experience, among other things. A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s hard drive containing information about the user. Cookies generally do not permit us to personally identify you. UEP may use both session cookies and persistent cookies. A session cookie generally disaPrivacyPolicyears after you close your browser. A persistent cookie remains after you close your browser and may be used by your browser on subsequent visits to the UEP site or other web sites. Persistent cookies can generally be removed by you. Please review your web browser “Help” file to learn the proper way to modify your cookie settings and to remove cookies. We may also use web beacons on our site and in emails that we send to you. We may collect information regarding pages visited, searches performed, documents and profiles viewed, documents downloaded, documents uploaded, reviews and comments made.
Automatically Collected Information: When you access the Site or open one of our HTML emails, we may automatically record certain information from your system by using different types of tracking technology, including server logs. These “server logs” typically include your web request, Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser.
The Site may track the total number of visitors to our Site, the number of visitors to each page of our Site, browser type, and IP addresses, and we may analyze this data for trends and statistics in the aggregate, but such information will be maintained, used and disclosed in aggregate form only and it will not contain personally identifiable information. We may use such aggregate information to analyze trends, administer the Site, track users’ movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.
We may provide your personally identifiable information and the data generated by cookies, web beacons, logs, and the aggregate information to the service agencies that we may engage to assist us in providing our Services. Such third party entities may be obligated to use your personally identifiable information to provide the services to us. We will disclose your personally identifiable information if we reasonably believe we are required to do so by law, regulation or in cooperation with any governmental investigation, including upon receipt of what we believe may be a valid subpoena, whether issued by a Court that has jurisdiction over UEP or not. (Please note that UEP reserves the right to assert that only the Federal District Court of the District of Columbia, and the District of Columbia Superior Court, have jurisdiction, and subpoenas from outside those jurisdictions must be “domesticated,” though we are not obligated to do so.) We will not sell your personally identifiable information to any company or organization, however, we may transfer your personally identifiable information to a successor entity upon a merger, consolidation or other corporate reorganization in which UEP participates or to a purchaser of all or substantially all ofUEP ‘s assets to which this Site relates.

UEP provides you with the ability to review, correct and delete any of your user profile. Information you post in other areas of the Site cannot be deleted. If you wish to review or correct any profile information you have provided to us, you may submit a request to us at the contact email below or access your account online.
