Thank you for visiting UniversitEPublishing, LLC's ("UEP") Internet web site ("Site") located at www.universitepublishing.com. This Privacy Policy (“PRIVACY POLICY”) details certain policies that govern our use of personally identifiable information about users of our Site and users of services available through this Site (the "Services"). By using this Site, you are agreeing to this Privacy Policy and you will be bound by its terms.

UEP reserves the right to change our PRIVACY POLICY from time to time without notifying you. If you object to any such changes, your sole recourse shall be to cease using this Site. Your continued use of the Site following the effective date of any such changes shall indicate your agreement to be bound by the PRIVACY POLICY, as changed. If you do not agree to any terms of the PRIVACY POLICY do not use the Site or the Services.  If you do not cease using this Site and the Services, you will be deemed to have accepted the change(s).

Information Collection and Use

You can generally visit our Site without revealing any personally identifiable information about yourself.  However, every time you access a page from this Site, we collect certain information from your computer about your visit. This information is used in summary format to identify items such as the date, time, origin and nature of requests, specific pages accessed, and the type of browser and computer operating system being used. Summary reports are only available to selected UEP staff who have a need for the information, in an effort to help us understand overall trends of site users and to implement changes that will make our site more useful to visitors.

If you use our Services by becoming an Author or Registered User, you must provide us the following information to create an account: name, email address, telephone number, country, and password. Like other passwords, you should choose one that is known only by you. You acknowledge that this information is personal to you, and by creating an account you authorize us to identify you.

As an Author, you may elect to provide additional personally identifiable information for a profile such as your email address, gender, photo, age, phone number, company, postal address, city and occupation.  Registered Users will be able to view the comments or ratings of documents you posted to the Site.  Additionally, Site visitors will be able to view information about the documents you have posted, such as the most recently posted documents and highest rated documents and we may modify the tags or categories of the documents you have posted to the Site.

We may use your email address and telephone number to contact you, without further consent, for administrative communications, to address copyright infringement or defamation or other violations of Terms of Use (TOU) issues, or to contact you regarding any content that you have posted to or downloaded from the Site. We may use and disclose your information if we believe, in good faith, that it is aPrivacy Policyropriate or necessary: to take precautions against liability; to protect UEP from fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful uses; to investigate and defend ourselves against third-party claims or allegations; to assist government enforcement agencies; to protect the security or integrity of the Site; or to protect the rights, property, or personal safety of UEP, our Users, or others. We may disclose User information to affiliated companies or other businesses or persons to: provide web site hosting, maintenance, and security services; fulfill orders; conduct data analysis and create reports; offer certain functionality; and assist us in improving the Site and creating new services features.

Children's Privacy

UEP recognizes the privacy interests of children and we encourage parents and guardians to take an active role in their children's online activities and interests. This Site is not intended for children under the age of 13.  UEP does not target its Services or this Site to children under 13.  UEP does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. IF YOU ARE UNDER 13 YEARS OF AGE, THEN PLEASE DO NOT USE OR ACCESS THE UEP SITE AT ANY TIME OR IN ANY MANNER. IF UEP  LEARNS THAT PERSONALLY-IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION OF PERSONS LESS THAN 13-YEARS-OF-AGE HAS BEEN COLLECTED ON OR THROUGH THE UEP  SITE, THEN UEP WILL TAKE THE APRIVACY POLICYROPRIATE STEPS TO DELETE THIS INFORMATION.

IF YOU ARE THE PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN OF A CHILD UNDER 13 WHO HAS BECOME UEP SUBSCRIBER, THEN PLEASE CONTACT UEP AT PRIVACY@UNIVERSITEPUBLISHING.COM TO HAVE THAT CHILD'S ACCOUNT TERMINATED AND INFORMATION DELETED.

Cookies

When you use or access the UEP Site, we may use small text files containing a string of alphanumeric characters called cookies to improve overall Site experience, among other things. A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive containing information about the user. Cookies generally do not permit us to personally identify you. These "server logs" typically include your web request, Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser.

Aggregate Information

Notice to European Users

Correction/Updating Personally Identifiable Information

UEP provides you with the ability to review, correct and delete any of your user profile. Information you post in other areas of the Site cannot be deleted.
